My teacher was a bully.
I received detention exactly once in my life, in my final year at the last school week before my exams.
For entirely unjust reasons and to perform a task of finding certain information online i had previously tried in group and we concluded the information did not exist online. So i just fumbled my thumbs till i could go home.
She bullied other people of my class too. She also blamed us for being suicidal because idk the only reason she gave was her previous class had higher grades than us. I was actually suicidal at the time.

I am running a few lxc which all run a docker container each.

My job has a yearly thing and i would want to go but while at large the company is very open and inclusive they tend to forget such when planning these.
If you do this, you must organise them well. I am autistic and the mental challenge of Figuring out whether an event is compatible with me. (Where do i need to be, what are we doing, how much people/noise will there be, when will i be back home) is often more straining and time consuming then just doing my job.
Also a bit beyond topic but a small indie gaming company should not have a dedicated CEO. Creative works genuinely do not benefit from corporate structures. But that is my opinion.

What taxon said.
Most of my services have their own lxc with docker.
A few that need it are vms
It works so well i often forget how i set things up because its very leave and forget about it, Keeps working.

Proxmox all the way, cannot recommend it higher. I was very scared to try it in the beginning but its the best server choice i ever made.
You dont need to choose between lxc or docker. You can just run docker in lxc many helper scripts set you up like that by default.
Super technically they dont recommend doing so but i know others who do this and have never encountered a problem with it.
I am, that works really well actually and it even knows when the same file was moved.
But to add new files to that external library, which is in fact the only main library. We need to dig in immich file structure which at the very least enforces different directories per individual user and also uses those to store some forms of metadata.
We tried sharing a user in the beginning but the app did not seem to like that.
Now its not the biggest deal, just an annoyance. the fix i am currently thinking is to move the immich directory to somewhere hidden and us systemlinks to get all uploads centralized under a single directory for further processing.
I am aware and actually use this but it appears too restrictive for our needs.
The structure we were already using cannot be recreated. Honestly i could live with the default. But my partner who is less into computers likes to make their own backups on external hard drives and uses shared network drives rather then the immich web viewer.
This does not help you but it makes me think of this:
I understand why it makes technical sense to do so but immich storing things in a database in general is more nuisance then practical.
We want those fotos accessible in our own file system where we have full control of what is what.
Immich job is to put the pictures from a phone to the server and also to display all pictures within a certain directory.
It does a good job at both. Having your own file structure is not a problem and it seem to even know and adapt if pics get moved around.
But we have to manually move the photos out of its own structure into our own every time we do a big upload.
Maybe i can set something up with syslinks so it all appears centralized as a big “upload” folder to be sorted.

Click file “Yup, looks like code all right”
I don’t really care about low quality code as long as its still the best tool for the job. I blindly trust that any malicious code in popular sofware would quickly be called out.
The more niche, the more likely I feel like first investigating what exactly it does before i download.
Realistically i would probably not be able to tell without consulting an llm though.
Because the same people who might be forced to use this tool on the job are the same who like linux.
They do the same with powershell en vscode and you can just remote terminal from linux into windows.
Its a small investment in making developers more comfortabel with their toold and thus increase chance they will use them.

“I read somewhere online” that big luxury tents have been propping up owned by organizations that basically sell the entire experience as a package to rich people.
Aware of social dynamics that are just not quite right.
Like the existence of billionaire celebrities.
Anyway i guess this thread does settle it. I take full responsibility for this mess of a comment chain.
The term i considered at one point a uniting concept of progressive values is dead. If it no longer conveys the message we want to express it becomes useless. Propaganda seems to have won that battle.
But a good thing, we are still here and we still seem aware of social dynamics that are not quite right, like billionaire celebrities.
I am saying what you said actually was in the original meaning.

Just like everyone else i guess?
Got born as a “baby”, was taught how to “adult”, how to think about concepts like “mathematics” and “politics”;
Had fun while complexity emerged from its singularity but sooner or less the silliness of it starts to break the immersion and you stop waking up.

One option that i am not sering here that is also very safe is install wireguard and allow them to use it via vpn.
Whispers “try proxmox”
