Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would it take to make someone the best girlfriend ever ?
10·6 months agoGenuine enthusiasm. If you’re only doing things to make someone else happy, it’s hollow and pointless.
Thank you, it is for me too. I’ve been running linux and bsd for 15 years, and now I’ve realized that my phone and the services I use have been a blind spot. I have two phones that are supported to install but only through adb. What does os version S,T,U mean in the list?
Aha! Thank you :) My next phone will definitely be /e/os then. I can’t really justify buying a new phone now when my old phone works, but maybe a refurbished one wouldn’t add to e-waste I guess.
How does it work to get banking apps and similar on /e/os? Do you have to sideload?

Is there something for lemmy what snac is to mastodon? Like, something with a small footprint that is easy to set up on a cheap vps?

People are disagreeing, but there is also the fact that the question reveals something about you. The people who say you might have some kind of empathy disorder could be right. That part is beyond disagreeing. If you care about people around you I think you should be open to the possibility.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever had an experience you can't explain?
2·7 months agoYes! “Concepts weren’t a thing.” This is for me the impossible thing to describe. In retrospect, I’m glad I had that experience, but I also say never again.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever had an experience you can't explain?
2·7 months agoI had a similar experience on ketamine, and it’s been so frustrating, because I want to explain but no words can explain it. I can’t even say it was an experience I had because there was no concept of “I”. It wasn’t the case that I was “one with everything”, because there was no I. I’ve been looking for the right words to describe what it was like, but it’s just not possible to describe with words and concepts.

Yes, but it must have been like 15 years ago or something. It didn’t help that the first versions of Gnome3 were unpolished and buggy. After that I started to appreciate version stability. I do like new and improved software, but I want it in predictable ways.
I don’t mind changes, but I want to be able to decide when they happen. Maybe I’m just traumatized from the last time I used a rolling release distro and suddenly Gnome 3 landed and replaced Gnome 2. I did not like that.
She has a track record of going after big tech, which can be a bit surprising as she is a republican. People were surprised that Trump chose her. That’s what the whole origin of “Proton CEO is pro-Trump” is about. Trump chose someone who isn’t a friend of big tech, and the Proton CEO posted that it was a good choice. This article explains the whole thing step by step: https://medium.com/@ovenplayer/does-proton-really-support-trump-a-deeper-analysis-and-surprising-findings-aed4fee4305e
Honest question, do you think Gail Slater was a good or bad choice?
As a long time debian user, I have my eyes on Leap. I value stability (in the unchanging functionality sense) over latest versions.

Mm, depends, do you use a regular 5v charger or those fast charging chargers that take like 30 mins to charge the whole battery while making it quite warm?
