  • None of the above, I think? I deal with boaty things. Computery stuff regarding survey boaty things, to be precise.

If I absolutely had to choose, I’d say internal support for a trade, although I think a trade would involve trade school.

Actually, on paper I’m considered office personnel, although my “office” is my bedroom, and 20% of the time I’m on the far side of the world.

I think it’s a “glitch”. Our brains are wired towards pattern recognitions, and this often manifests itself in recognizing seemingly random shapes as faces because of a vague resemblance.

It is my belief that music is a similar trait where we recognize patterns in rhythm, sound, and motifs as something pleasant because we are built to recognize and categorize so many things to the point where a series of sounds can give a pleasant feeling once we’re able to “parse” it.

Source: None, really. Just me having given this a lot of thought in the past, as I’m very musically interested myself.

  • Due to DOGE cutbacks there hasn’t been an available crypt keeper for a while. Don’t worry, the ghoul in question will make an appearance once the next crypt keeper is available for leading him to the senate floor.

Seriously, I think Mitch is laying low. Too much toxic BS going on these days, even by his standards, and he has nothing to gain by getting in the middle of it. I think he just wants to ride out his term unless explicitly needed on the senate floor, since he’s not seeking reelection.

    Do nothing: Preserve status quo.
Do something: Risk angering the clown car he helped start

1996, It was magnificent in its simplicity. Very few walled gardens, no cookie-pop-ups, and very few ads.

And the best search engine was HotBot. Fight me.

It took until early 1998 before I got my own modem and could start to really enjoy it. For those of us who enjoyed “testing stuff with telnet”, it was scary how much sensitive stuff was unencrypted and openly available. Anyone who knew how CGI worked could bypass a lot of stuff and craft custom headers to retrieve things they weren’t supposed to.
