I always thought the simplest way to do it is to pass laws that require every website to provide a rating/content description and then leave it up to the end user to set acceptable levels. We don’t get mad for kids watching the wrong content on TV.

Websites could be fined for either not providing or providing incorrect classifications.

If people don’t want their kids to see that stuff, make sure the parents have the tools to enforce.

Yeah, that would be my recommendation too. Anything else will produce a worse experience (laggy and slow) and more complexity to get setup/maintain.

The series had some great moments in it. Almost like a college version (more sophmoric) of It’s Always Sunny.

The movie though was pretty bad. Which was a shame given how good the last episodes of the series were.

For me, it’s worked out for plex. What it offered at the time was more than worth the price and I’ve felt a little bad about it being a once and done payment.

That being said they’ve hurt some of the good will with the changes they’ve made, but also I imagine they’re struggling to find a sustainable path for development.

No it’s not mandatory, although sounds like some states may require it.

I think the easiest way would be to have two vlans on your local network. One that is connected to the internet and another that is local only. I think you’d have to switch networks when wanting to access the jellyfin server in that instance, but would negate the main issue, which is your VPN.

Edit: that’s about the most secure you can get I think. If you bought a different physical router to host it, you’d have about as secure a setup as possible.

There are a couple of benefits to credit cards (in the US at least).

• Protection: If some steals my credit card info, I can fight the charges with the credit card company (and am not out any money while sorting it out) . With debit cards the money is gone and you’re fighting to get it back.
• Rewards: most offer good cash back or point rewards. It means I save 2-3% on average compared to using a debit card
• Persk: Many cards will add coverage for car rentals or discounts just for using them for the purchase.

If you pay off the card each month you get all of those persk at zero cost. While technically credit card companies charge stores 2-3% for each swipe, in the US at least there is no price difference for the customer for cash/debit/credit.

Edit/TLDR: In the US it’s cheaper and safer to use a credit card (if you can pay the balance every month).

I’ve seen this a lot recently. This isn’t about what police can do, it’s about border crossings. You can be required to unlock your device when entering the country or be denied entry (or possibly worse).

The best route is to have a phone specifically for travel.
