I’ll definitely give it a go! Been meaning to do another binge anyway. I think the last season I even saw was the one using them drowning as a plot device

Dang, the characters are my favorite part of lost :/

Always sunny is very hit or miss, and I haven’t properly enjoyed a season since 2018 I don’t think, but the ones that do hit knock out out of the park for me. My spouse and I quote it frequently

I felt the exact same way, you just brought back memories of watching it… The dream sequences stood out as extra pretentious in my mind

Bro season 2 is suuuuuuch a slog. I got into it for the mystery and esoteric horror imagery, and I understand that they were trying to emulate a soap opera for season 2, but it’s just so long and uninteresting to me.
It’s been such a road block to getting to Firewalk With Me and The Return :/

I remember the exact episode that I noped out of forever with Supernatural: when they brought in Snookie as a cross road demon cameo. Literally stood up and left my mom to watch the rest without me lol. I had already thought it sucked for a while though, yeah. I can tolerate season six okay, but it was definitely a very noticeable quality drop.

…really? I liked steins gate okay for what it was, but to me that’s like comparing a fine dining experience to a chain restaurant.

Damn, I’m the complete opposite. The tightly knit and well-thought-out, dense story telling felt very compelling to me. It felt refreshing to see a show that trusted its audience to keep up with it instead of spoon feeding the information to you. Not many shows/movies do that nowadays.

Funny, the Talking Dead was a show that aired after that night’s episode every week back in the day. It was actually a highlight for me; they’d have the actors and effects artists in to discuss behind the scenes stuff. It was very fun watching Greg Nicotero talk shop

Being a lot more tame ≠ appropriate for children 😂

I mean, Holy Grail has that whole nunnery sequence where they’re trying to get Galahad to fuck them

Proceed with caution with the Dark Crystal. Idk if I was too young to watch when I did, or what, but it scared the bejeebus outta me; I couldn’t even look at the cover until I was an older teen

Watched that for the first time while really high in college, and the horse sinking in the swamp really fucked me up lol. I’ve had no desire to revisit it, personally :/
Kids and animals dying really ruin media for me
Role*
Also, she said they don’t mind sharing, so they know about it. Most teen relationships end messily, true, but I wouldn’t say it’ll necessarily be a ‘shit show.’
If these kids are honest and open enough with themselves to know they’d be chill with a poly dynamic, then my money’s on them being able to navigate their emotions well enough to not have a shit-show-level meltdown about everything.
Parent should keep their eye on it, but ultimately trust the kids to figure out what they want.

There are some truly terrible remixes on repeat in TJ Maxx/Marshall’s/Homegoods as well.

Be so serious, Mariah Carey’s is far from the worst Christmas song in retail.
Have people forgotten about the used market? Buying things second hand is the way.
Lmao, no it isn’t. At best, it’s made for people who are lightly into space/science and also lightly into cinema, so please don’t trot out the “you need a high IQ to enjoy this movie” stuff. If it were made for space nerds, two scientists selected for deep space flight wouldn’t need to stop and explain what E=MC² is to one another.
That’s kind of always been Nolan’s schtick, though, and I guess it’s working out for him because he’s got the a huge, quite passionate fan base. I’ll never understand the hype and find his movies quite mid as cinema, but eh.
I mean, yeah. Young people of both genders are doing really poorly. Some people want to really naval gaze it and throw pity parties about how men are just so put upon and lonely, but so are the gals and theys.
It’s just that the boys are being offered a solution of basically a heirarchy-cult (read: fascism) where instead of being shat on like the rest of us, they are—in this narrative—meant to be elevated above us.
It’s the same bullshit that got the white poor rednecks voting for billionaire grifters.
