Privacy@lemmy.ml•Should I Disable WebSocket Connection on My Web Browser?
2·6 months agoSorry about the confusion I am referring to “privacy”
Disabling WebSockets will cause some Websites not to work properly anymore. Especially such which rely on live updates without reloading the site (most common use-case for WebSockets).
I have disabled WebSockets for past 2 years without knowing it and in my memory only 3 sites wouldn’t work and I’m not sure it’s because I disabled websocket.
I am really confused why websites for instance outlook still function while websocket is disabled

Privacy@lemmy.ml•How does using Matrix compare with using Signal, privacy-wise?
1·6 months ago- Correct me if I’m wrong
- matrix allows email signup instead of phone number
- matrix can be used on a web browser
- matrix is decentralized
- matrix support screen sharing
- signal server is not Open-source
- Correct me if I’m wrong
Thanks !

The reason my chameleon breaks openwebui is because I changed a setting in it that it blocks all websocket connection
