There’s a big difference between nationalism and patriotism though both can be displayed in similar manner. For example if you take a look at small european countries like the baltic states they are very patriotic and have flags on their cars etc. but they are not nationalistic at all.

So I think it’s unfair to equate them in this context even if reviewing vanity like flags and mascots.

Been obsessed with Galaxy Tab A9 recently which is around 75-100$. You can root it and turn it into a lot of general purpose devices for automation or just an e-reader. The only problem is battery so you need a plug for it full time if used in automation environment.

Copyright by itself only protects distribution but then laws like DMCA (US) and EUCA (EU) make drm removal illegal. Its hard to believe that these laws exist and should be opposed at every possible opportunity.

Can you imagine buying an ebook and being told you can’t remove malware from some strings of text or you’ll go to prison? Also you have no consumer protections like refunds or ability to pass down the license so you’re literally have worse consumer rights than a physical product and digital data costs nothing!

The current copyright framework is so broken and so toxic it needs to be completely destroyed.

Oh it’s definitely possible. Its also just firefox so you can apply all firefox styling things like Chrome.css edits. I have mine setup so it’s completely borderless like qutebroeser unless you press ctrl+l to open the location bar for extension gui controls etc. With local client extension it can also communicate between firefox windows so you have global tab list across just like qutebrowser too! It’s very well made.

Qutebrowser and Firefox depending on what I’m browsing as qutebrowser is nicer but firefox has better adblock and addon support. Firefox with tridactyl is really good these days and very close to qutebrowser ux quality. Chromium for web development as chrome devtools are still unmatched unfortunately.

I have an electric standing desk (converts in seconds) and imo it’s extremely overrated and doesn’t actually do anything.

The science behind this is extremely unconvincing other than “standing is fun sometimes” which is great but you shouldnt force yourself if it doesn’t work for you.

What actually works - raise your monitor, lower your keyboard, get a vertical mouse, get a ergonomic keyboard with a track point, get compression socks if you’re older and do some yin yoga / stretching. These things actually work. Just listen to your body as you can feel the exact strain and discomfort if you actually pay attention to it.

Also posture is not harmed through idle poses, you don’t want to keep your back straight at all times - that’s stupid. Main enemy of posture and all muscles is strain and this is fixed by stretching and exercise not standing with a straight back.

Again you’re just showing your ignorance how actually available this is to people outside of your immediate circle, maybe you should travel a bit and open up your mind.

You’re showing your ignorance if you think the whole world has access to fit education. And I say fit because there’s a huge difference learning from books made for Americans and AI tailored experiences just for you. The solution is easy and right there in front of everyone’s eyes. Force open source on everything. All datasets, models, model weights and so on have to be fully transparent. Maybe as far as hardware firmware should be open source.

This will literally solve every single problem people have other than energy use which is a fake problem to begin with.

Nobody talks how it highlights the success of capitalism either.

I live in SEA and AI is incredibly powerful here giving opportunity for anyone to learn. The net positive of this is incredible even if you think that copyright is good and intellectual property needs government protection. It’s just that lop sided of an argument.

I think western social media is spoiled and angry and the wrong thing but fighting these people is entirely pointless because you can’t reason someone out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into. Big tech == bad, blah blah blah.
