Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which TV show do you watch again and again?
2·7 months agoI watch it through one or two times a year
And
It’s Never Too Late by Tommy Emmanuel
Also
And honestly anything by Stone Rebel
Edit to add: OVERWERK does EDM-ish mixes/covers of classical music. Toccata is really good
Slowly? I have a full on Deutsch conversion

Memes@lemmy.ml•AI will never be able to write like me.
19·8 months agoI am honestly so excited for the exponential propagation of errors from AI training on text generated by AI. Regression to the mean, babyyyyy!

Seconding. Early 30s, went to the doc with a set of strange new pains. Turns out I’ve been too sedentary and much of it started to improve with just a couple hours of walking every day
About to frame this and put it up in my shower

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you do the virtual one sided interviews?
2·9 months agoI knew as soon as they sent me instructions that I would refuse the job, but I figured it was good interview practice since I’ve only done 3 in 10 years

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you do the virtual one sided interviews?
46·9 months agoI did one a few months ago for a university. When I was done it asked for feedback, so I submitted some along the lines of, “I understand you may have numerous applicants, but this interview format does not align with the respect or attentiveness I expect from an employer.”
Needless to say, no call back
Edit: a word
Your step-by-step is to cover your liabilities, protect your reputation, and then “I didn’t endorse this” which is tantamount to “it’s my kid’s fault.” Children recognize this for the selfishness it is, and it certainly impacts that relationship.
Maybe there’s a chance the child could accept that their parents reputation matters more than they do, maybe it’s cultural, but where I’m from this a surefire way to not get invited to Christmas
You would put your reputation before your relationship with your child?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some generational differences between millennials and Gen Z ?
1·2 years agoThe digital landscape is so different. I teach undergraduates and it’s hit or miss whether they understand what a file path is. But honestly, I’m not sure it will be relevant in the same way for much longer. I grew up installing games from CD and establishing a specific file path and folder for install and if I did it wrong it wouldn’t work. With GUI’s becoming more simple and intuitive, combined with advances in machine learning and algorithmic design, I have no problem imagining a future where all file structures are transparent to the user.

Yes, hardcore for Steve Irwin. His shows taught me what love is, since I never really saw it at home
