You read my message as an accusation to you, but I was describing everyone else and all the downvotes you got!
Of course you, and anyone else, is entitled to their preferences!! That’s the beauty of FLOSS. That’s precisely my point.

You said it’s not the best and then mentioned Hyperland as a panacea of customization… It is almost implied. Meanwhile the arguments against you go a little bit in circle. This seems like the typical internet people polarizing themselves. We are all enjoying our distros, text editors, DEs, and WMs. No need to start making up factions at all… But it’s way more fun to do so because we are humans and our society conditioned us to this. *shrugs*

This is entirely different approach, sorry. Fwiw, I bought a wireless (2.4Ghz) keyboard that has a trackpad, and just use a zoomed-in KDE Plasma. Far from the eye candy of a kiosk, but with some customization you may achieve satisfaction (:

You could also consider Zulip they have been around for a while as the succesor of IRC but never arose in popularity. I like their concept of #tags for filtering messages inside a channel through #topics :)

Not OP, but I’ll chime in my reason: History. Messages older than… 30-day are only accessible for a fee. Even when you star/ pin those messages. It’s so hateful.

I use FreeTube on desktop (it’s on f-droid too!) because you can create subscriptions under local profiles (e.g. some of mine are: music, diy, news, etc.) and it allows to export or import subscriptions so you could sync devices every once in a while. Oh and a whole export holds all your profiles.
May not be perfect but I like switching front pages with these profiles…

Sounds like that toxic relationship continued through divorce with her making everyone “take sides” and stealing all support. Can’t give you any advice, you could reach out to some of your closest friends… Or, just start fresh with new people… like, moving to a new city or neighborhood.
Good luck! Stay safe and strong :)

I do read the docs. Even before trying software, to judge if ot will fulfill my requirements… Rocky Linux is one such example. Great docs, I’d love to try their distro one day :)

Where are you? I can recommend idealo.de & check24.de to find low prices over all the retailers with online store (e.g. mediamarkt, otto, etc.)

Yup. Best firefox extension after uBO. If I had to pick a third one it would be Privacy Badger, although it breaks some sites.

Cockpit is a dashboard (and control!) app that can connect to multiple hosts.
Shoutout for https://www.marginalia.nu/ too!
