Have you … have you never stayed up past midnight? 👀

Everyone changes days at the same time. That’s the point.
You would get used to the switchover being in the middle of your working/waking day.
This wouldn’t be a big deal and if it were the status quo I bet someone, if not you, would be saying how dumb having everyone on different days would be in the mirror universe version of this thread.

It would be something to discuss with the Faircamp devs. If Faircamp seems like what you want except you would just plug in images instead of music, then maybe it would be worth pursuing.
If Faircamp doesn’t quite seem like what you want, it’s not.

For no time zones? 🙋♂️

Faircamp is great for this for music - I wonder if it could be pretty easily adapted for art, too.

I am very interested in this as well.
I wonder if creating some kind of shared NixOS setup might work? (I know very little about NixOS but it seems like it should be good for this sort of thing?)
If you start down this road and set up a git repo or something, I would be interested in contributing/testing.
I also kinda like the idea of being able to slap other things into usb ports - dashcams, a usb stick with a good road trip mix, etc.

This is cool.
It’s this old link, eh?
Citation needed.
The most compelling feature I always get asked if Jellyfin has ala Plex is the discovery/NAT punch for linking people up.
That does not strike me as something that necessarily breaks backwards compatibility. It would require some centralized discovery, and I think that is probably where we run into an issue because if I were the Jellyfin devs, I wouldn’t want to have to support that, either.
You sound like me. I hope you can find a way to flip your focus: your time outside work should be way more about you than it sounds like your work life is letting it be.
Maybe you are one of the very few with a meaningful job. If not, consider trying to treat your job like the bullshit it is and use your best cycles outside work on stuff that will really make you happy.
Jellyfin is open source. You could be helping out.
Best of luck with Plex, though. I would say this is even more writing on the wall but it does not sound like that matters to you.
We are heading back to the BBS model and as an old man now I am fuckin here for it. 🤝

This chart doesn’t show the adult blood lead levels boomers had through continuing exposure. They didn’t get as huge a dose as kids, but they got it for longer.
But yeah, you’re understanding why I am asking why people think this is becoming less of an issue. It’s just shifting a bit. As a GenXer myself, I would probably be ok with an age limit of like 40 to hold political office at this point. Neither we nor the boomers can be trusted.

What makes you think lead poisoning has wound down as GenX ages into taking over from the Boomers?

It’s a fine line - getting tired of having to meet people where they are when they’re standing in the shit.
Good on you for having the energy to keep it up.

Let.me know which bit I got wrong such that I should enhance my chill.

Oh, you means liberals did something instead of nothing, and then it wasn’t perfect, so conservatives absolutely lost their goddamn minds, only to realize hey maybe we should do something, now let’s address the things the liberals wanted to address in the FIRST FUCKING PLACE?
Is that what you mean?

You refuse to address the “arbitrary” and “dire consequences” parts of my arguments by pointing at hypothetical religions. I will not respond to that.
To teach someone that they must follow arbitrary rules with dire consequences for failure is unethical.
You can decide what that means for religions.

All major world religions with many followers have arbitrary rules and dire spirital, and often physical, consequences for breaking them.
I am not here to argue specifics on religions.
I don’t think I could be more clear about why I believe teaching anyone religion as fact is unethical.
Thank you for posting this so I didn’t have to.
Just a gem of a movie.
