  • Early 40’s married and 2 younger kids. I watch trailers and sometimes play demos, lol. I keep up with the news and over the years my game list that used to be about 10 games a year was 5 then 3 and now it’s been like 1 or 2 games a year that I buy. I haven’t actually finished any of them either… friends poke fun at me for it as well. I really wish I could play, but it’s just not in the cards these days, sadly. I feel like as soon as I sit down, I’m beckoned to take care of something, or one of the kids needs something. I stay up later than everyone else just to get a few hours to do something but I almost never feel the need to play something because I’m either to tired or I play the same 1 game for the past 5 years which is fall guys since a bunch of us hop in and chat while playing something quick and dumb. Mostly, I’ve just been watching TV shows and passing out within the hour. Always tired these days lol.

  • I took this statement as don’t have any more kids because it’s most likely having them is what lead to their own divorce. Having kids is insanely hard and you have to change who you are to make things work. Some people are awful at that, which leads to fighting and being miserable. As someone with 2 kids, I can say it’s very, very hard…

  • I am also using Navidrome and Symfonium. It’s about as good as local library playback can get! Thanks for a new one to try Feishin, never heard of it before. I have tried setting up Lidarr, but I never got it to grab stuff and rename it to what i like, so I stopped. I’m sure I probably could, but I didn’t want to spend the time trying.

My current setup is grab from Orpheus or redacted, run it through program generically called tagscanner (been using it for years and love it) then drop everything into musicbrainz Picard with custom setup to only grab genres for everything and will attach up to 5 different ones. From there, i move everything to the music library by artist and subfolder for albums. Once there, i load Musicbee, which is my pc app of choice because of the customization and audio playback quality. Once there, if any album art is missing, it’s easily discoverable and then loaded into navidrome.

The hardest part was discovering that I should organize properly after a decade of collecting music, and it took months to reorganize and tag everything properly. I had to do that once more with genres. Once I figured out how to automate that and would take chunks at a time and have it do it over days, which also took months. It’s been about 10 years of me doing it this way and has worked great if not a bit tedious.

  • Never been to burning man but I would have loved to have tried it. I did go to Bonnaroo for 4 years straight and 6 years total. Almost a 7th but the fest was legit cancelled an hour before we were going to start driving. And yeah so many amazing stories to count. The first year going holds a special place in my heart since it opened me up to a whole new world. I went with friends who knew other friends. Campsite was about a dozen of us and made new friends for life after that. It’s overload being able to not only have some of the best moments ever, but also see some of your favorite bands where some will do something you may never see elsewhere. Wish I could do this again someday, but I do think we are all done at this point sadly. I did say when we get really old like late 50’s we should go back in style. We ran into several older groups of people that had hilarious stories to tell and I kind of want to be them haha.
