Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something about Microsoft Outlook that drives you crazy?
9·6 months agoDid you know that Microsoft changes keyboard shortcuts based on locale? In Italian they set search to Shift+F5.
Shit drives me crazy.
Watch out for the slippery slope!

12·7 months agoIt’s less green tho. Everybody going to the store vs. one vehicle going door to door.
I wouldn’t know, my drives are in RAIDZ and I’m always seeding Linux ISOs, so they never spin down.

8·7 months agoIf you take charge of maintaining this system, maybe it would be easier to install HA supervised in a docker container and have another container for wireguard+syncthing.
A pi5 with 8gb should be enough unless your parents’ HA is an hypertrophic installation with hundreds of devices.
I had an embedded Celeron server, passively cooled with 1 hard drive and 2 SSD which used to idle in the range you mentioned, measured at the outlet… It had a random PSU that came with the mini case it was in.
Realistically, how low do you aim to go? Disks for example add a lot of wattage.

4·8 months agoI agree with the idea of staying an upholding your values, but as an Italian, let me tell you people can be pretty ambivalent about people from countries like ours, just as I happen to be seen as either a lazy criminal or a poet cook navigator with nothing in-between, you guys can be seen as dumb and vulgar rednecks or cool rock’n’roll cowboys.

I’ve been hearing this for every version of Windows since XP. If Linux is to become mainstream, relying on Microsoft’s fuck-ups may not be enough.

lol

It doesn’t start with F5 either, and why shift? What’s more, it’s inconsistent, sometimes they still use ctrl+f, and every other application uses that anyway
