yes. i ment the uptime. to me hosted means i can reach it in a digital way any time even if it is just wake on lan. but if you guys say some device running 8hrs a day is hosting I am fine with that.

emby and shares. emby unlike jellyfish can mount remote smb shares right in the webinterface. proxmox/lxc and jellyfin is a pain in the ass you do not want.

it is not mounted to the container because that is a shit solution. the host would need to mount it and pass that to tge container. emby i stop the container and no connection to the share. mounted in host it would still be there. not to mention the hassle this also means more traffic. an idea why jellyfin doesnt do shares like emby?

i gave emby and jellyfin a testrun yesterday using docker. I kept emby because i can easily add smb shares using the webinterface. jellyfin requires me to mount those to the host/container. am i using jellyfin wrong?

i cant follow your first paragraph. at all. i use companion app from fdroid withouth gsf and a selfhosted homeassistant. you could aswell connect apprise to it, you can uding telegram or whatever…all in homeassistant.
