Ah gotcha. It’s possible that they were a pain to get to without destroying the plaster/drywall and the previous owner was tapped for money, it happens. But yeah, make sure no heavy loads, especially space heaters, and you’re probably fine.

The bus speed just translates to how quickly data can be transferred through the mobo to your card to be processed/rendered. I’d just pop it in and configure it, then run a benchmark program, which will tell you where your bottlenecks are. In terms of functionality there’s no reason it shouldn’t work, but don’t expect newer AAA games to run at full spec.
Assuming PCIe, you’ll be limited to the bus speed of whatever version your motherboard has, but otherwise you should be able to get video fine as long as you get your drivers configured correctly.
Meh, these systems are ripe for false positives, all it does is weed out riskier drivers, or provide incentive to encourage reduction in pay and benefits in order to mitigate said “risk.” These systems are cancerous.

The upfront cost is the big one. Most can’t afford the $20-30k install, so that’s when these creative financing schemes come into play where they match your lower end power bill to make you think you save money but end up taking the rewards of your net metering arrangement for themselves. You’re better off finding a 3rd party loan from a credit union and then not having a power bill.

I’d be leery about posting anything on any platform, especially one that has even your email or other personal info attached to it. Even on a random day that I go browse ahem the other place, I don’t really comment anymore. I don’t even have my email tied to that account, but I don’t trust spez’s greedy little pig boy ass, and I’m doing my damn best to fly under the radar while they build their databases. Nor would I trust MS, Google, or even Apple to not be tracking every thought and action online for resistance monitoring.
Better yet, having a (halfway decent) multimeter and knowing how to use it is huge. A good one can test capacitance, but simply tracing voltage isn’t too tricky.

Working with electricity is actually quite simple in a lot of respects, and I make a lot of money mainly because people are afraid of it (and rightfully so, me too). But many of the small things like changing plugs/switches out and hanging fixtures can be done easily by anyone with a basic knowledge hand tool use and basic rules like a) turn off the main if you don’t know which breaker you’re working with, b) check that it’s off with a meter or hot stick, c) even then, don’t directly touch the shiny parts, and d) match your colors exactly as you found them (take pictures to be safe). Granted I’ve been doing this for 10+ years, but even a layman can save themselves a service call with a couple basics and YouTube is a great resource for such things.
You don’t have join them, but you can also not see a god damned thing. Unless they’re doing something that screws over good, innocent people, especially on a wide scale, I’m minding my own business.
