Ah it’s been a while I may have misremembered the exact definition.

Caballo, yes. That’s specific to Costa Rica. I forget where I heard the goat one (cabron) but I think it was either Spain or Mexico.

In some Spanish-speaking regions, a goat is usually like a big dumb guy. And calling someone a horse is another way of saying they’re stupid.

Similar but distinct. Much further left for one thing.
Also, the average level of tech knowledge here is off the charts. Like I feel like a caveman and in my office I’m the one people to go through for help. Never felt like that on Reddit.

Sounds like a cushy gig 🤣
I believe these are beech trees, not birches, and they appear to be suffering from beech leaf disease which is a newly introduced and highly deadly species of nematode.

Eh if you look at it as a hobby it’s not so bad. My only issue is that it rests on a certain mythology that you’ll survive collapse by holing up in some bunker by yourself which is complete nonsense. Strong community bonds will help people survive difficult times, not isolation.

Probably at least try lol. But I’m not sure we’ll have quite the political monopoly the boomers did as we’re proportionately smaller and also I think more diverse, so we have less of a singular vision for politics.

Culturally irrelevant in terms of what? I think we’ll be culturally relevant until we die, just like previous generations. For example, despite their age, boomers have dominated politics for almost my entire life.

Loud cars. So fucking lame.

Probably didn’t develop fully yet. Eggplants are picked before they fully ripen. They could also be aborted seeds that will never grow too.

Interesting. It always amazes me that all across the world politicians lie, victimize, and manipulate their people, and we can all see it in other countries. Yet in every country, so many people think “but not our leaders, they are different, they are better!” It’s quite sad.
We should never respect those who enforce that respect through violence.

Is it respect or fear?
I’m amazed that anyone would think this isn’t real. It’s so incredibly obvious to me, even in myself though I try to work against it.
Very clearly no.
One of the nice things about getting older is that you eventually realize people like these parents are pathetic and it’s actually you who should be looking down on them, and not vice-versa. But I don’t think I had figured that out at 22 yet either :)
Because the economic conditions of the modern world allow for tyranny and the people haven’t figured out that we need to unite and overthrow the tyrants to build a better society.

None. I can’t believe how much money people spend on these things.
I also use Reddit. My local sub can’t be replicated here, unfortunately, and it’s a very valuable resource to know what’s going on in the local community.
